Vails Gate (Orange) - MVA w/pin - 07-10-12

Description Of Incident: 2-Car MVA w/pin

Reporters: BFD1054 (o/s)

Cornwall EMS was dispatched for the 2 Car MVA with injuries. EMS arrived and determined that (1) person was pinned in one of the vehicles and extrication would be needed.

Vails Gate FD was then dispatched and responded with Car-2 (IC), R480 and E478. E479 responded, but was directed to re-locate to Station-1.

VGFD Car-2 arrived and advised R480 that a door-pop would be needed.

R480 arrived and it's crew put the spreader in operation and applied speedy dry. E478's crew assisted EMS w/patient care and packaging.

Once the door was popped, the patient was removed to a backboard by COVAC and VGFD members. Patient was then placed on a stretcher and transported to the hospital.

Once EMS units were clear, PD opened the roadway and VGFD units returned to service.
