Town of Ulster suspends Police Chief Matthew Taggard after he’s charged with misconduct

Town Police Chief Matthew Taggard has been charged with official misconduct and suspended from his job for allegedly being aware that sex crimes “involving underage victims” were taking place in an adjoining community but failing to notify authorities, the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office announced on Thursday.
