Location: Railroad Ave. x Hancock Ave.(Bing Maps)

Frequency: Bridgeport Fireground - Channel # 2(153.700), Multiple Frequencies

Weather Conditions: Hot

Description Of Incident: Companies o/s w/heavy fire showing from the 1st floor windows of a 4-story vacant brick 50'x200' vactory. Battalion 1 o/s transmitting a 2nd Alarm for heavy fire conditions. Battalion 1 requesting 1 & 1 S/C on the 2nd Alarm. Heavy fire throughout the building w/exposure problems. Battalion 1 requested Metro North Railroad to cut power on nearby railroad lines and requested United Illuminating(UI) to cut off power in surrounding area. 3rd Alarm transmitted by Deputy 2 for 2 exposures involved. Numerous L/S/O's w/multiple master streams in operation. Companies using aggressive exterior attack. Ladder Companies opening up. All hands working. Originally reported as heavy smoke from a commercial building then as a structure fire. All searches negative. Strike Force Assignment S/C to respond to BFD Fire Headquarters to stage. Numerous firefighters treated o/s for heat exhaustion and smoke inhalation. Two firefighters transported to the hospital by AMR for heat exhaustion. Fire currently is still burning.

20:35hrs. - Deputy 2 requesting Engine 12 S/C on the 2nd Alarm.

06:00hrs. - Deputy 2 reporting fire is u/c. Holding all companies. Deep-seated fire reported to still be burning.
