Description Of Incident: Structure Fire

Reporters: BFD1054 (o/s)

0200hrs-Orange 911 alerting Vails Gate, Cornwall-on-Hudson and 36-14; Vails Gate FAST, Cornwall-on-Hudson w/(1) Engine to the scene.

0203hrs-Cornwall Command advising working fire in a 1 story, single family dwelling. Requesting an Engine from Vails Gate in addition to the FAST.

While en-route, Cornwall Command advised that Vails Gate's FAST would be needed to go to work and then requested the City of Newburgh as the 2nd FAST.

Command then requested an additional Engine to the scene from New Windsor.

Companies arrived to find heavy fire throughout a single story ranch style home. There were some initial water issues, but were resolved using a secondary hydrant and tanker(s).

Several hand lines, as well as the elevated stream from Cornwalls Truck were put into operation. Once the heavy fire was knocked down, crews re-entered to knock down the remaining fire and open up.
