It brings me to believe your not a chief. I don't know a department whose not been in a parade, and mostly all of them are led by PD Motorcycles. Thats not a knowledgable question at all. When your marching in the parade next year, be sure to ask the drivers of the bikes why they're there, i'm sure they can give you an answer.

Problem the same reason all parades have a police car at the conclusion. They help us to stay safe and work with us to make a good event for the community.
