Ford concept firetruck pressed into duty after Arlington tornado

Most high-dollar concept vehicles can barely back out of the trailers that tow them to car shows.

But when Ford Motor Co. asked NewScope Marketing in Granbury to build a concept fire truck, the automaker requested a functioning truck -- a decision that proved useful in the aftermath of the North Texas tornadoes on April 3.

"We got with the local fire department and told them we didn't know anything about firetrucks," said Bradley Snyder, vice president of marketing at NewScope, which has built several show vehicles and engine displays for Ford. "We said tell us what a fire department would want in a truck like this."

" disassembled or sold"

Why disassembled? Is it too technologically advanced this early? Is that suppose to be in 5 years or so? Thats an incredible piece of equipment. I think it'd be best for disasters like what the story says, not just going to a fender bender on the side of the road.. Thanks for sharing.
