Woodburn, Oregon - 4 Alarm Structure Fire - 5/11/12

Units Operating: Woodburn FD, Silverton FD, Newberg FD and Tualatin FD and at least 2 other agencies according to news reports. Woodburn PD says 16 total depts.

Weather Conditions: Sunny/Clear

Description Of Incident: Fire possibly started in a storage room on the north side of the building near where metal/woodworking shops. Students were evacuated and then told to move to the football field. Buses eventually took the students to Wellspring Medical Center, which is nearby, for safety and were picked up by friends or parents. A fourth alarm was called in just after 01100 hours. A large portion of the school's roof had collapsed.

As of 1550 hours Woodburn Police reportedly said the fire is still not a controlled situation and the area where the wood shop is appears to have suffered the most damage.

Approximately 1,400 students attend the high school.

There have been no injuries reported
