PUTNAM VALLEY — An 84-year-old Putnam Valley man who was trying to put out a brush fire in his yard died Saturday after he fell into the flames, a fire official said.

The man, Harold Wilson, a founding member of the Putnam Valley Fire Department, may have had a medical emergency such as a heart attack while he was trying to put the fire out, Fire Chief Shawn Keeler said.
