Pierce Southwest Road Rally

Pierce recently held a "Southwest Road Rally", with stops in Louisianna, Texas, New Mexico, and California. It came through Austin in the Cabella's parking lot. This was a really cool idea on Pierce's part.

This was my first time seeing the Dash CF up close, and while not a solution for all agencies, I see it being the perfect fit for some. There also was other apparatus on display from Pierce and the Pierce Contender brand, as well as a Siddons Skeeter Brush Truck. (Siddons-Martin is the dealer for Pierce).

All the vehicles are stock and available for immediate purchase. The Dash CF will not be available until the Spring.

I'll hopefully have some more time later this week to post more photos. And I apologize for the crappy shots, there's been severe fog and drizzle in the mornings down here.

I'm not really a fan of the Dash CF. It's a neat idea but all in all I don't exactly see a need to have that much space in the front of the cab. I'd prefer the space in the back. But like you said, it probably meets some agency needs. All depends on what you want. My Vol. Dept will hopefully be ordering a couple more Pierce trucks later this year...if not them then Rosenbauer.

I really loved that Rescue (Freightliner/Pierce Contender). It had a TON of space at a great price.

The Mini-Attack was also very capable for simple responses.

May be a stupid question, but I have been trying to figure it out,

When they need to get to the engine in a typical rig, how do the things inside the rig ( such as things loose on the floor) stay where they are? I have seen rigs with flashlights, and interior cones, etc just placed in there, wouldn't they slide around when it's lifted the way it is to access the engine?

I apologize if it's a already answered question somewhere, but seeing Ben's photos, reminded me of what I can't figure out, how things dont slide and move around, etc.

And, I do know that the SCOT packs, etc are hooked ( in simple words) to the seats.

The same way the things in your pants pockets don't get wet when you wash them. You take them out first.
