A Rockland County gadfly arrested after a publicity stunt in which he dangled from the Tappan Zee Bridge rejected a deal from prosecutors today to pay restitution for his rescue and spend six months in jail.The deal offered to Michael Davitt, 54, would have had him plead guilty to one of two misdemeanors: second-degree reckless endangerment or obstruction of governmental administration. He’d pay $33,818 for the Nov. 7 emergency response, which drew a number of agencies.

Tappan Zee Bridge dangler rejects $33,000 plea deal

Given the sentences some people receive, paying $33,000 and spending 6 months in jail doesn't seem like a great deal to me.

I guess time will tell when he gets his day in court.
