Tier 6 Pension Fight

As I stood on the great lawn at the state capitol on tues at the IAFF state rally I was disappointed that it was not full like wall to wall men and woman but I and half my job was there. Thanks to Eastchester local for the bus ride. We heard from some senators and assemblymen talk a lot of crap and then 12 hours later sold down the river. It is heart breaking to know all we worked for is gone and nobody gives a sh** .

I'm with you....I was there with 10 guys from my house. I thought the turn-out would have been better!

IAFF screwed up by making it a firefighter soliderity rally. A lot of unions backed out once it changed from a pension reform rally to a firefighter rally. Its ridiculous that semantics get in the way of our futures. Now that tier 6 is a reality has anyone read through it? Here's the Assembly version.

Ok so its April 1st and anyone hired from this day forward is screwed. However if you are elected, not hired, you may benefit.

I just heard on the radio that the new legislation has a hidden clause that increases the pension for the Assembly members, Senators and the Gov. and while new employees who do not work till 63 years of age lose 6/5% per year, the new pension for elected officals has them vested after 1 year.

Of course this was all past in the middle of the night.
