Stamford - Serious MVA - 12/15/11

Time: 1000hrs

Location: Merritt Parkway NB (Greenwich/Stamford Border) Between exits 32 & 33.

Frequency: GFD, SFR, CSP,

Units Operating: [stamford Fire Rescue(SFRD): Engine 9, Rescue 1, Unit 7(Safety)], [Turn of River FD(Stamford): Engine 62, Rescue 66, Utility 65, Car 612(TRFD AC)], [Greenwich FD: Engine 1, Engine 4, Car 5(DC), Safety Lt., Safety Capt.], Stamford EMS, Greenwich EMS, CT State Police, Greenwich PD

Weather Conditions: Rain

Description Of Incident: Started as a walk-in report to SFRD's Engine 9. Greenwich FD was first on scene with 1 Car vs tree - prolonged extrication of the single occupant. Stamford PD transported 1 ER Surgeon from Stamford Hospital to scene to help remove driver. 1 sent ALS with Stamford to Stamford Hospital. Merrit Parkway was opened to traffic after 1pm
