It's a water meter, the FD must swipe their card so the water department can bill the fire department LoL

I also like how they make the hydrant area and the trees next to so nice so when you flush the hydrant you blow all the soil away

A city charging it's fire department for using the municipal water system to put out a fire. What's the world coming to?

I can just imagine the supply engine searching for a hydrant, to find that when they get to one, they can't use it on account of none of the crew on board having spare change for the meter.

What if someone parked right at the meter in front of the hydrant. It's illegal, but what would the traffic cop say to a comment like, "Well there's a parking meter here."
