Yonkers FD Rescue 2?

I just heard YFD dispatch assign Rescue 2 to a job. Is Yonkers FD now staffing 2 rescues in the city round the clock or is it a temporary/special assignment unit that is in service on occasion? And if it is staffed 24/7 is it equally equipped and trained as Rescue 1 (heavy rescue)?

No, Yonkers only runs one Rescue Company per tour under normal circumstances. Today, RES1 is being used at a drill so RES2 is covering the city. The crew is 1 Officer, 3 Firefighters.

(Normally, if RES1's apparatus breaks down, the spare would be designated RES1.)
