Definitely looks like power flashes around 5:35 and a tornado around 5:40 which crosses the Thruway.

I would definitely say that looks like a tornado forming and crossing the thruway. You can tell somethings coming just based on how dark it starts getting and you have a sudden pick up of wind and rain. Interesting video, wonder what the National Weather Service is going to say about this and if it caused any damage. Would definitely freak me out driving up the thruway and all of a sudden seeing that. Looks like a few people drove through it too.

appx 1940 hrs, I monitored on one of the metro fire frequencies a tornado touched down in cranesville(montgomery county),which is nw of where she said she was videoing this in amsterdam

The video was taken from the Mohawk Service Area in the Thruway just to the East of Amsterdam....I'm pretty sure NWS confirmed a tornado - had damage to buildings, loss of power, Rt 5 had to be shut for a while....

The only GOOD news is that there were no reported injures as far as I know....
