Next time you hear Joe Kelley of Hartsdale FD on the radio, it will be as 2172.

He's been promoted to Deputy Chief with Hartsdale FD (Shift/Incident Commander).

Congrats, Joe! You are a value to the fire service, and I learned a lot from you when you were Captain of my group at HFD.

Joe previously served with Arlington FD in Dutchess County years back (might not have been Arlington, but one of the career FD's in the Poughkeepsie area-can't remember). He also was the Lead Instructor for the Westchester Career Fire Academy a few years back.

I went through the academy with Joe, class 2-87. Wow- we start out 25th yr now. I remember when the garbage men threw his books in the back of the garbage truck when he went back into his house to get something. I've heard that sometimes the dogs eat your homework but the garbage men took it??? Good luck Chief!

You are correct: FF Frank Lacalamita (pictured) and FF William Perritt were both promoted to Captain. Biilly is currently at the FDNY First Line Supervisors ("FLIP") School and Frank will follow soon after.
