Description: A 23 year old San Diego resident went on a crime spree in San Diego yesterday, shooting one civilian in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant before assassinating Police Officer Jeremy Henwood, a 4 year veteran of the SDPD and Marine Corps reserve Captain, by shooting him the head as he sat in his patrol car at an intersection. The suspect drove off, leading another officer on a high speed chase before it was known that he was wanted for murder, attempted murder and possession of a weapon. Due to the suspect's reckless driving, that pursuit was terminated.

SDPD Aviation picked up the suspect vehicle, observed the suspect place the shotgun back in the vehicle and drive off. Numerous units responded and conducted a high-risk car stop on the vehicle. The suspect exited the vehicle and attempted to bring the shotgun up when he was shot and killed by officers from the SDPD.

Reports are that this suspect left a suicide note in his apartment and this may have been an elaborate suicide by police.
