Description Of Incident: Broad daylight gun battle in residential neighborhood of Rapid City, SD. Details still unclear but three officers contacted a group of four subjects on the street. One pulled a concealed handgun and opened fire on the officers. PO James R. McCandless was killed and two other officers were critically wounded. The suspect was also shot. All three were transported to area hospitals and the investigation is ongoing.
