MAMARONECK — Firefighters quickly stamped out a fire in a village apartment over a Mamaroneck Avenue shop Tuesday morning before it could spread to adjoining stores and apartments. In the process, firefighters helped a resident escape from a third-story window just before he was about to jump from his smoke-filled apartment
