Somers New Ladder 18

43 posts in this topic

Somers FINALLY took delivery of our new TL. It is a Sutphen SP95. It will be housed at the Granite Springs firehouse. As always a great job by the Comissioners and everyone involved in the spec'ing. It is out for lettering now and it should be in service shortly.

Sutphen stepped up and did the right thing the entire bucket was replaced. Then the truck was third party tested again before redelivery. The company really stepped up to assure our confidence and did it in a very timely fashion.

Great looking rig, best of luck with it. What is this, the third sutphen to Somers in the past 2 years and the second this year?

Nice Shots!!! Surprised with Sutphen, We have a 1995 and it looks almost identical. I am sure there is more technology in it but they should really modernize the design. Do you have any shots of the inside of the cab. Best of luck with the truck..

Somers model has a more compact wheelbase due to the bucket placement, and it's also easier to get into the bucket in their model. I prefer the SPH, but these are still cool. Port Chester uses this style for Tower Ladder 2 as well.
