Description Of Incident: Tanker trailer carrying 8,000 gal. of methanol uncoupled from tractor and slid along highway. Originally reported as a tractor-drailer leak. Companies o/s w/large confirmed leak. Engine 1 connected to highway standpipe for water supply w/precautionary monitor set up. CT DEP o/s for cleanup and to empty tanker trailer of 8,000 gal. of fluid. Highway shut down by CT State Police until approx. 08:00hrs. on NB side. No injuries reported.
