25-year veteran and native of San Francisco, SFFD Lt. Vincent Perez, 48 has died of severe burns at San Francisco General Hospital following a 2-alarm structure fire. Two other firefighters were also transported: FF. Anthony Valerio, 53, who is fighting for his life with major burns and one other firefighter for smoke inhalation.

FF. Anthony Valerio, 53, the critically injured firefighter from Thursday's Fatal 2nd-Alarm, died from his injuries this morning after a 40-hour fight for his life. Valerio was a 27-year career firefighter/paramedic and was, like Lt. Vincent Perez, also a San Francisco native. God bless them, their families, friends, and fellow members of the SFFD. May he rest in peace.
