It's the middle of the night and Richardson is home alone with his dog.

Richardson said, "I got out of the shower and he's laying on the mat asleep. The house is on fire and he doesn't bark or anything."

I might be missing something but, did this new communication technology play a role in his situation?

Also, how is this different then what exists already or has existed. Last time I checked, I can communicate with FD, PD, EMS, DPW...
