A 48-year-old man was shot to death by police early Saturday after a shootout at his parents’ home, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.

Police responded to a report of a disturbance at a home on Jackson Avenue around 1:30 a.m. and shortly after their arrival, shots were fired toward them — at least one struck a patrol vehicle,
