Looks like both the ladder and tower ladder of PCFD and Engine 36 of the TMFD who was the FAST Team which was called to assist?

Fire got into EX#2 in the rear but the dept did a fine job of kicking it out.

A few shots from the north side of the fire building. Heard the sirens and saw the plume, but had to go to a stupid meeting. I cut it short, grabbed the work camera, and took a few shots. I had just eaten at Coyote Flaco a few doors up before the alarm went out.

Nice shots Angelo and Chris. Angelo questions for you;

Balloon construction?

Was any attempt made to remove the cornice and attack the fire in the cockloft?

Observation based on the photos; fire throughout the building on arrival, the balloon timber was very old within the structure, the fire spread rapidly from the basement or first floor very quickly within the walls into level two and three, then quickly into the cockloft, and the rapid burning of the old dry studs and weight of the water made this (guessing close to 100 year old) frame structure buckle and collapse. The fire started in the rear of the basement, or one of the stores at street level.

The above is just guessing based on the photos. Hope there were no injuries here. Looks like from the photo of the firefighter bailing out onto the escape, he was very lucky to have found that way out!

First floor storefront was a boat canvas,seats,and navytop store, very heavy fire load. Thats where the fire started lots of foam padding lots and lots. On arrival fire blowing out rear door where shop was locatied 50 feet into rear parking lot. The firefighter on the fire escape was part of a 2 man team, he was the first one out with the next one right on his heels. On arrival Engine 58 had 2 P.D. and one resident on that same fire escape. Fire never got into cockloft and roof never burnt off.

Angelo, did "Da Da's" get any damage? Thats where we got coffee that morning right? Looks like they did a great job keeping it from spreading. Lots of exposure problems there and they did great job keeping it from the whole block.

GREAT SHOTS from the air! Yeah, West Harrison got dispatched for standby in PCFD HQ around 3:10 or so. 2502 and Eng 265 stood by. Tough conditions, glad no one hurt.
