Does Mohegan Have New Tones?

Is it just me, or does Mohegan have new tones?

x635, it sounds like the same tone, but a extra high pitch tone at the end. Ive noticed also. Whats with the new tone?

Not a new tone just an extra tone to assist setting the pagers off we have had alot of problem with the new tower setting off the minitor IV pagers. So this extra tone ensures the pagers go off.

312/346 is the main and the new "added" tones are around the 1000/900 range

I have heard before that the lower tones sometimes do not trip pagers as easily as the higher ones--matter of "hearing" the tones. Hope it fixes the problem--not just masks a coverage issue.

Lets address the problem. Low Band & Motorola Minitors III & IV

It's not just a problem around here. I was reading a report last night while I was at work from Berks County PA (near Redding). You could have taken the word Berks out and replaced it with either Westchester or Putnam.

Mohegan uses UHF Minitor IV's (still have some low band Minitior II's though). If you didn't know here is the deal. They have 2 repeaters. One is their "district wide" 453.650 I believe. The other is the link to low 453.275 which--at the current time is the primary disp freq so it does both the new pagers as well as the "old". The problem I believe is mainly with the UHF Minitor IV units not tripping. There also seems to be an issue at times with the VAC freq 462.200 clashing with the FD freq when they are both in use simultaniously. I could be wrong -- but am fairly confident this is what is going on

The new tones as of right now are temporary. A few members have had their Minitor IV pagers reprogrammed to activate with the new tones on top of the old tones. This is a trial period to see if the different tones are a possible solution to the dilemma that we have been having with the Minitor IV pagers not activating. Time will only tell.....
