Family of armed man shot dead by Ramapo officer sues cops, town

The family of a man armed with a knife who was shot dead by a Ramapo police officer has filed a civil rights lawsuit against the officers involved in the December 2008 shooting that a Rockland grand jury found justifiable.

Has the standard now become if you do not get the result you want in criminal court you file a civil rights case? Maybe it's time it got played both ways. Next time some skell gets off on a technicality the DA should just file a Civil Rights Lawsuit against the prep.
