The LIFEPAK® 1000 defibrillator is the most rugged AED ever designed by Physio-Control, with an IP55 rating. ADAPTIV™ biphasic technology provides a range of energy up to 360 joules, and an upgradeable platform. The 1000 is equipped with cprMAX™ technology, enabling care providers to change protocols as standards of care evolve. A large, intuitive screen displays graphics and ECG readings that are clear and easy to read from a distance. A visible and accessible battery gauge gives rescuers the ability to assess battery readiness. The non-rechargeable battery can deliver more than 425 shocks.

So what about the operating conditions for optimal battery life? Can it be stored outside in a freezing flycar for a week and a half and still perform?

Did you read any of the information in the links provided? They were provided for a reason. I found the answer there. Try looking a little harder! <_<

If you've got a flycar sitting outside for a week and a half without going anywhere you probably have to rename it. Or sell it!! :P

Physio-Control makes a solid product from what I have seen. When they say the battery is good for two years, they're not kidding. All four of our Lifepak 500's died around the same time (2 years old) and had their batteries replaced. Our other 3 AEDs are now the 1000's, and we have 2 more being purchased this year.

I believe Croton EMS runs with the 1000's as well. Great product.
