BONIFAY, Fla. — A Florida corrections officer and a man wanted for killing his parents were killed in a gunbattle on Wednesday, authorities said.

Department of Corrections spokeswoman Gretl Plessinger says the corrections officer killed was from Holmes County. Local media reported that he worked on the Holmes Correctional Institution canine team.
