Description

The work involves responsibility for staffing the County 911 Communication Center telecommunications console on an assigned shift. The incumbent receives and transmits messages and requested information to County Police Officers-(Deputy Sheriffs), law enforcement and emergency services agencies throughout the county and performs related communications activities involving operation of telephones, New York State Police Information Network (NYSPIN) computer, and short wave radio. Incumbents in this class must be able to function calmly in emergencies and take appropriate action in an effective manner. The work is performed under the general supervision of a higher-ranking officer in accordance with standard operating procedures. Does related work as required.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma.
