Norwalk - Multi-Alarm Fire 01-12-11

Time: 1010hrs.(Approx.)

Area: East Norwalk

Location: 15 Myrtle St.(Bing Maps)

Frequency: Norwalk Fireground

Weather Conditions: Cold w/Heavy Snow

Description Of Incident: Heavy fire showing upon arrival from the 2nd and 3rd floors, "C" side of a large 3-story P/D. Numerous L/S/O's. Additional engines special called for hydrant problems and heavy fire. Westport FD requested for M/A. One firefighter suffered minor burns. No other injuries reported.

Rescue 2

1018hrs. - Command reporting companies trying to locate a hydrant. 1 L/S/O at this time.

1023hrs. - Command requesting Westport FD M/A to cover NFD Station # 4.

1024hrs. - Command reporting 2nd and 3rd floors are fully-involved.

1025hrs. - Engine 4 reporting hydrant in front of 32 Strawberry Hill Ave. won't open. Command requesting an additional engine(Engine 5) for hydrant problems.

1040hrs. - Command requesting an additional engine(Engine 1) to the scene.

1123hrs. - Command reporting visible fire is k/d.
