Congrats to Eastchester, but for being one of the wealthiest areas, they sure seem to be stingy when it comes to FD spending, especially with the population density and large apartment buildings. If they didn't get this money, would the air packs still be replaced in a timely manner?

Eastchester Fire Department gets $204,000 grant for new air packs

EASTCHESTER — Town firefighters will soon have a better and safer way to do their jobs.

Assistant Fire Chief Ralph Stupple learned in mid-December that a grant request he had written asking for money for new air packs was accepted to the tune of $204,418, enough to order 43 packs and 86 air cylinders to replace equipment three decades old.
