Retired Capt. John S. Brewer -- Central Islip FD

It is my very sad duty to report to those who knew him that, my father-in-law Ret. Captain John S. Brewer of the Central Islip Fire Dept. in Long Island passed away this morning from complications from a long illness. He was 84 years old.

I will never forget his love of family, kindness to friends and strangers and dedication to the fire service. He was Capt. of the C.I. racing team "back in the day" and I'll never forget those stories of the road trips to upstate NY to compete with his buddies.

John, you will be very missed and RIP on this Easter Sunday.

hoss, while it's never easy to lose a friend or family, take comefort in knowing that he's in a better place now. may he rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers go to you and your family as well as the Central Islip Fire Department.
