Wassaic Detached Garage Fire: 11/27/10

Wassaic was dispatched this morning at 10:24am to a reported shed on fire, upon arrival there was heavy fire showing on the Side A side of the garage. Automatic mutual aide was provided from Dover Station #1 and Amenia 31-11 (CAFS pumper). Due to extremely high winds there was an exposure issue on the D side which was a 2 story multi family dwelling. Dover Engines 36-11 and 36-13 arrived on scene first and handlines were put into operation on the exposures and then to the fire attack. I was on one of the handlines so all my pictures are after extinguishment and upon my return from an electical problem at another residence in our district. The car inside the garage is a 1964 Chevy Impala convertable, the rear of the garage was an area to house the owners business equipment.

I was the first to arrive and it was well involved, the wind was blowing right towards the house at about 25 MPH.
