Firefighter Derrick St. George, 24 and Devin St. George, 21, brothers, repelled down a 30 foot cliff to rescue 3 people and 3 dogs one at a time from a cave on Lake Champlain in Charlotte, Vermont. This incident occurred when the homemade raft the victims were sailing to France on was caught in a storm and dashed upon the rocks. Luckily they were able to escape into the cave where they were eventually pulled to safety by the rescuers. The actions of the boaters were called extremely irresponsible by the Charlotte Assistant Fire Chief, Dick St. George, the firefighters father.
