Washington, CT: New Engine in Production: Updated Delivered 1/17/11

The Town of Washington in Litchfield County, Connecticut is a rural town known for its picturesque countryside, active civic and cultural life. The dedicated members of Washington FD, along with Firematic, have designed an apparatus to improve the department's water supply at a fire scene. Specs: This Front Mount is on a 2008 International (Washington already had thechassis as they were originally going to remount an exsisting body onto this chassis) Max Force 330 HP Chassis equipped with: 1,250 GPM Hale HFM Front Mount Pump, 750 Gallon Pro-Poly Tank, 2 SCBA Seats, Super Single Wheel and Tire Package, Ziamatic Electric Ladder Rack, 6 Storage Compartments, 6" Intake, 5" LDH Discharge, 5,000 Watt Gas Generator, 2,500' of 5" Supply Hose, Two 1-3/4" Crosslays LED warning lights. This units primary fuction will be drafting and water supply operations.

Do you know what is going in the officer's rear compartment with the PVC pipe and 1/4 turn valve?

There is a speedy dry well in the wheel wheel area that is connected to the pipe.

Nice rig! Will this function as an attack engine, or with the front mount pump will it be more of a source pumper?

What other apparatus do they run? Will this rig run as a spare front line pumper if their first due is OOS or will this be for supply operations only?

From my understanding it will be their source pumper and will carry 2500' of 5" in the bed.

A few more provided today pump panel, hose tray and some compartment shots, looks as if they will take delivery within the next few weeks, I will travel over to Washington to get some shots and see what else they have in the house.

Washington took delivery of their custom built Firematic BRUTE on January 17, 2011, here a few pictures provided from Firematic, I will be headed to Washington on Sunday to take some shots of the unit and will post when I return.

That is a very nice rig. I like the tool standing in the compartment it looks just like a real fireman!!. Does the rig have the pump and roll feature?.

Yes it can pump and roll, I will go over soon and get some shots to post, here is one from in front of Washington's firestation and one of the committee doing some pump training with David Horton, Product Manager @ Firematic
