Cohoes Fire Department morale at “rock bottom”

Broken windows, leaking roofs, malfunctioning heating systems, outdated gear, aged and non functional apparatus and the lack of proper training, have all become standard operating procedure for Cohoes Firefighters.

Lost amidst the ongoing dispute between Cohoes Mayor John McDonald and Albany County Legislator and Union Shop Steward Shawn Morse, are the firefighters themselves and that fact that the day to day toils, hazards and what many call a mismanagement of the department, has started to erode the pride in a once proud organization.

Wow, absolutely deplorable! Nobody should have to work in such conditions. I like how the Common Council President trys to play it down. I wonder how he'd feel if he had to work there everyday?
