membership requirements for BLS agencies

3 posts in this topic

my question is, is there a requirement set forth by the NYS DOH stating how many members a BLS transporting agency has to have or what percentage of calls they must make in a given time? I am a member in Dutchess with a BLS ambulance that only has 5 active EMT's. Our town is contracted 24-7 by Alamo to provide ALS service. We are gathering information on making our volly ambulance a non transporting service. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

So basically your saying your agency is going to become a first response agency to support the ALS service..

As far as I know the State could care less how many members or EMTS that you have, as long as any call that you agency responds to has an EMT on the ambulance. They dont have any requirements for how many calls you go on either.
