Early in this thread Izzy said the tractor trailer crossed over the lanes to strike the engine. I didn't see anything about the driver being cited for impairment. So why is an experienced driver slamming into the back of a well lit fire engine? Luckily the driver saved his crew by placing the rig in the right place. There is enough research and countless anecdotal reports to support the moth to a flame explanation for these accidents. Instead of addressing this we add more and brighter lights. Glad everyone went home, but accidents continue to increase and its time people start asking why.
