Large Area Ventilation Fans

These large area ventilation fans are becoming increasingly popular with larger urban departments around the country, such as Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and Chicago.

To my knowledge, there aren't any of these units in the northeast, and I wonder why?

They very quickly ventilate smoke from warehouses, schools, shopping malls, etc.
