4 posts in this topic

From the AP:

ONTARIO, N.Y. — Six emergency medical technicians in Wayne County were hospitalized after being exposed to acid fumes following a car crash.

Authorities say the EMTs inhaled potentially dangerous vapors from a spilled gallon of muriatic acid after responding to a crash between a car and a truck.

The wreck happened in Ontario.

The acid is used to clean stone and brick

Authorities said the acid had been in the cab of the truck, and that the EMTs complained of a burning sensation in their respiratory systems.

Some have already been treated and released.

Moral: Be careful out there. You never know what could be present in a "normal" MVC.

Alway be careful. Had an amateur exterminator get rear ended. 5 gallons of insecticide sloshing around the back of a minivan is uncool.
