Description: A truck involved in an off road race struck a large rock on the track and went out of control Saturday night, striking and killing 8 people the CHP stated. The truck had taken a jump at high speed, in an area called "the rockpile". When the truck landed it struck the rock and went out of control and tumbled, striking members of the crowd who were as close as 4 feet from the unmarked track. 6 people were killed at the scene and 2 others died after arriving at the hospital.
