Georgetown FD 464.9625?

5 posts in this topic

Over the past couple of weeks I have been picking up all of the Georgetown calls along with Redding Ridge and West Redding on 464.9625 MHz. I heard that this is a repeater at Meadow Ridge. It almost seems as if it is a simulcast. Has the Georgetown FD stopped using the low band? Also has anyone heard about whether or not the other fire departments in town plan on replacing the low band 33.7200 with VHF or UHF?

Thanks

I am not 100% certain but I beleive this will be the ops for Georgetown as Redding Communications is still on low band. Should only be a link but I will check to see what the story is.

Izzy,

Thanks for the response that would be great if you could find out some information and see what the story is. It also looks like the 464.9625 has an input frequency 469.9625 so looks as if it is repeaterized. I guess what I am a little confused about is whether or not this channel is going to be used just for Meadow ridge or if it is going to be their primary operations frequency since they may be trying to get off the low band. I know they already have a cross band frequency to 33.7200 which is 453.0625 MHz. This kind of seems like a similar setup to Danbury where they get dispatched on the low band but use UHF HTs that have 2 ops frequencies and then a PAC-RT channel in addition to firegrounds.

Just looked up on radio reference and the FCC database and yes this is the new Georgetown FD Meadow Ridge repreater.

(search under Georgetown and also Redding)

This is cross banded to Redding Fire Communications 33.73 - WQUN666 frequency. All three fire companies dispatched by Redding also utilize UHF operations as well.

Thanks for the info izzy. Thats interesting that they are using that frequency for primary ops in addition to their previous repeater frequency of 453.0625.
