The M-8's are brand new, and will replace the aging fleet on the New Haven line. The trains are currently undergoing testing, and are not in revenue service yet. These are the best photos I've found yet (and thanks Patrick for the videos)

Maybe if the M8's were in service the catenaries wouldn't have gotten ripped down by one train and the pant's get ripped off another train Saturday evening in Greenwich. As a result the whole New Haven Line was only paralyzed for about 6 hours and finally back to normal after about 10 hours.

These new cars are sorely needed on the New Haven line. Most of the cars on the line are 30-40 years old.

My friend John is one of the shop heads in New Haven and he went over to Japan a couple of times before the trains came over to the US. They are going to be a nice ride once they are placed in service. Told me the bar cars are even nicer!!!!!!
