Jonathan Metz, the man who cut off most of his arm after it was stuck under a furnace for days, is in surgery this morning at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

The only thing worse then a field amputation, having to do one on yourself.

Reminds me of the guy out west who was hiking/scrambling solo and got his arm stuck between a mountain a boulder.

The West Hartford incident was a Saw-zall used by the patient. The man who was stuck in a boulder was a sort of Swiss Army style knife kit.
