ANOTHER WINTER STORM WILL AFFECT THE NORTHEAST FOR THE END OF THE WEEK.

LIGHT SNOW WILL DEVELOP LATE TONIGHT AS A COLD FRONT APPROACHES FROM THE WEST WITH MINOR ACCUMULATIONS POSSIBLE BY MORNING. FOR COASTAL LOCATIONS... SNOW WILL MIX WITH AND CHANGE OVER TO RAIN FRIDAY AFTERNOON. LIGHT RAIN WILL THEN CONTINUE THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING.

A SECONDARY LOW WILL DEVELOP EAST OF NEW JERSEY OVER THE OCEAN WATERS. WINDS WILL SHIFT TO MORE OF A NORTHERLY DIRECTION... ALLOWING COLDER AIR TO FILTER BACK INTO THE AREA. ANY RAIN WILL THEN MIX WITH AND CHANGE BACK OVER TO SNOW LATE FRIDAY NIGHT.

THIS NEW SYSTEM WILL INTENSIFY AS IT MOVES TOWARDS EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS... ALLOWING A PERIOD OF HEAVIER SNOW TO FALL ACROSS EASTERN LONG ISLAND AND SOUTHEASTERN CONNECTICUT SATURDAY MORNING. AS IT LIFTS AWAY... GUSTY NORTHWESTERLY WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 40 MPH WILL SPREAD THROUGHOUT THE NORTHEAST ON SATURDAY.

TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS FOR THIS EVENT THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING WILL RANGE FROM ABOUT 1 TO 3 INCHES ACROSS MOST OF THE AREA...

WHILE EASTERN LONG ISLAND AND SOUTHEASTERN CONNECTICUT COULD PICK UP AS MUCH AS 4 TO 6 INCHES OF NEW SNOW.

SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE HIGHLY DEPENDENT UPON THE TRACK OF THIS STORM. A TRACK FARTHER EAST WILL RESULT IN LESS ACCUMULATION. A TRACK FARTHER WEST COULD RESULT IN MORE SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS... POSSIBLY INCLUDING NEW YORK CITY....

Joe Raio is awesome. He seems to be the only one who gives an accurate forecast for our area!
