New TransCare SUV?

I've never seen this TransCare SUV until today at WMC. Does anyone know what this vehicle is used for?

Very odd markings and color, wonder why it's not in the Transcare colors?. Also, "Emergency Response Unit" is so vague, could be anything. Hopefully someone can fill us in.

This is OD3. It is one of 3 organ donor vehicles. Ford epedition, flex, and a van. They pick up organs obviously as well as surgeons and specialists. Makes sense to see it at WMC with all of the transplants that they do there.

I am not sure as to the staffing or contract for the services. I am pretty sure it is a hospital out of the city. Columbia maybe. Anyone from Mt Vernon or Brooklyn ? TCALS225 possibly

It is not out of the ordinary for commercial services to get called for organ transportation. I once had to transport a heart down to WCMC... kind of an eerie feeling if you ask me.

I don't work out of any of the NY bases, but on the surface I can think 2 things:

1) As part of TC's contract with WCMC, we're probably either retrieving harvested organs or

2) We're bringing the retrieval team to a community hospital to harvest them.

Either way, I'm jealous! We haven't been assigned a new staff car since 2006!
