New London CT. Fire Dept

I was wondering what people knew about the New London CT. Fire Department; staffing, operations etc. I just submitted my application for their test, but don't know much about them, any info would be much appreciated!

It will have all the information you need. If you do get on, expect to be assigned to one of the ambulances for at least your first year. You do perform fire duties though at calls. Working in the area myself, I do know a few members from FDNL and they are a great group of people.

New London has 3 firehouses running three engines, a tower, a TDA, two ambulances, and a battalion chief. Currently there are 14 members on per shift, this is including the battalion chief.

I would mention some of the members of the FDNL I know, but don't want to damage their reputations! They are overall a hardworking bunch and I won't fault their skills as firefighters. I live in New London and if I was twenty years younger would love to be taking the test. I would definetely go for it.
