continuation from and old post: http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php?showtopic=28919&hl=millwood&st=0

Yesterday afternoon, Yorktown fire was dispatched to Rt. 134/Fairhills Dr. for a MVA rollover with entrapment and fire. The location of the accident is 0.6 miles from Millwood St. 2 and over 7 miles from the closest Yorktown firehouse (but still in Yorktown fire 1st due). Even though the car was not on fire, the patient was still entrapped. This is not the first time a major incident or potential major incident has occurred around this area. Does somebody need to lose their life in order for something to be done about this? I know that this is an issue in many departments around the area, but seriously, when do we put egos aside and do whats best for the community?

Easily put...when its too late. That is when people will stop being so obsessed with call volume or the good calls, and look at the real reason why they are firefighters.
