The casinos Fire Departments will do Fire & EMS

MAYBE one out of 5 casinos will have their own fire department. The Turning Stone Casino (Syracuse) and the Foxwoods (CT) train their security guards as EMT's. They have EMS stations set up around the casinos where they have EMS equipment. A privately contracted ambulance provides transport. I know that Foxwoods has a fire marshall division which maintains alarm systems and sprinkler systems. They are not responsible for EMS.

One Sullivan county volunteer fire department has already been promised 5 million dollars from a casino. That is a good move to secure volunteer services at one rate, instead of having to pay salaries & benefits every year for a paid department.

If anyone is interested the Turning Stone Casino is hiring security guard/EMTs. It is about $13 per hour plus benefits. You can now see why these casinos would rather pay to secure volunteers instead of staff their own departments.
